19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard courts

A resurgent Medvedev won his maiden championship for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid season, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the US Open.

The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in specific - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with former trainer Gilles Cervara.

Currently collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought competitive triumph over opponent Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's initial title after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface since that period of that year.

Victory also signifies Medvedev has secured twenty-one victories at twenty-one different events.

"For the first time I am participating in a event with my children together, so to win a title is particularly special," commented world number 14 Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my child her name, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his past six title deciders, including in Halle earlier this year.

His counter-punching strategy and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had caused commentators to question if his skill to perform at the top level was finished.

But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an improved serve.

He came back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult Moutet, taking four of the concluding five games to take the lead.

Both players swapped break points in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his first professional title, took control to create a final set.

Moutet saved four early-game chances in a competitive final set before the champion broke to fifteen to close out the victory.

Suitably, the winner earned victory with a point at the net, with his opponent failing to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
